SCIENCE AND MEDITATION

Three months of intense meditation can sharp the mind in such a way that perceptions of facts and details of daily life are picked up. This is impossible to reach ,in a normal living condition

It is like ,a larger world, opens its doors.

An American scientific research found, after experiments on volunteers, that Vipassana meditation, this ancient discipline, can help, control and develop the human mind. There are possibilities that can heal some problems which belong to the mind.

These problems hamper the normal behaviour and regular concentration.

It is called ADHD ( attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ) which affects from 3 to 5 % of the children.

This explanation is reported from the neuroscientist doctor Richard Davidson of the University of Wisconsin.

Ten years ago, the Dalai Lama ,suggested him to make a research on this matter, being Davidson

himself into this path of meditation, since years.

In the next 5 years Dr. Davidson wants to find out how Vipassana meditation ( taught by Buddha, 2.500 years ago ), acts on the brain.

He wants to reach a connection with the forensic medicine, in order to treat this illness which affects children.

In the New Millennium, meditation, under supervision and equilibrium, is steadily growing, the peace of mind, body and emotion, is a necessity.

Science is approaching this philosophy and the search for truth is taking the first , daring , steps.
