The influence of Capricorn becomes more significant to the world with the entry of Jupiter and Pluto in 2008. Most interesting is that Jupiter will enter the sign at the beginning of the year, opening, so to say, the path to the next flow of energy of Pluto. Jupiter, along with Venus, are the most beneficial of the planets. Therefore, the entry of Jupiter in Capricorn is most favourable for the energy of Pluto.

Jupiter in Capricorn can bring a tendency towards a growing sense of expansion and influence, both on lower and higher levels of achievement. In 2008 Saturn opposition Uranus

In 2008 the planets Saturn and Uranus will make an aspect of opposition between each other.

What is interesting is that it happens around the time of the American election.

Saturn in the sign of Virgo, around 17 degrees will oppose Uranus in Pisces, marking a real strong, controversial political campaign.

Saturn in Virgo shows over concern for the details because the tendency of Saturn towards perfection puts too much weight on Virgo's natural sense of order.

It can brings obsessive concern for undue details. What is essential and what it is not, will be a main issue on the individual and national level.

Saturn is conservative, limiting, structuring, stabilizing the form-aspect in life.

Myanmar, Uranus and Neptune

In Burma the bloody repression by the dictatorial military junta, began the same day of the full-moon in Libra. During the day of the full-moon high energies are released as well as destructive ones.

We are confronted in this historical upraising with a deep, strong challenge between loving-kindness versus violence and ignorance.

Monks, nuns, students, and peaceful crowds, fighting for democracy and freedom , were beaten and shot dead, and the fighting is not over yet.

It has happened before: there was a bloody upraising in 1988 in Burma, but with a different scenario, it was almost unseen. Today, thanks to the Media and Internet, thanks to the bloggers, photographers, video makers, the bloody suppression of the protesters was seen across the globe . In spite of the military junta which blacked out the Internet connections, there will be always some brave individual who will get the news out, sending abroad photos, e-mails or videos.

We can recognise now, that we are witnessing an historical moment:”Spirit versus Matter at its lowest level”.

Extreme right at bar. After the violent attacks against immigrants of the last few days, in Germany, the political debate about a possible ban of the neo-Nazi party NPD has fired up again.

The aggressions in various German cities against a Senegalese, an Iraqi, an Egyptian and seven Indians, the last ones violently beaten up by about fifty neo-Nazis in Muglen, have outraged German public opinion.

To the extent that the Social Democratic Party (SPD), a member of the coalition guided by Angela Merkel (Grosse Koalition), has taken, trough its President Kurt Beck, legal action to ban the extreme right wing party, responsible, a few days ago,to promote racial hatred through the ludicrous and grotesque words of its president Udo Voigt.

Voigt has recommended Hitler's right-hand man Rudolph Hesse as a Peace Noble Prize candidate!

Most of NPD' supporters are young Germans, aged 14 to 25, half of them think that Nazism had “its positive aspects”.

On the other hand three teenagers, including a 13 years -old boy, have been shot outside a house party in north London, days ago.

Police say a large number of people were outside in the street when a group of youths with their faces covered turned up and fired a handgun.

A 18 years-old girl is being treated in hospital after being hit in the back.

A boy of the same age was wounded in the chest - the 13 years old in the leg.

And the list is growing...

The “shadow” represents our emotions and behaviour that are incompatible with our own self-image, so they are repressed into our subconscious.

The “shadow-projection” occurs when someone projects his own guilty-complex, outside on individual or national level.

These young people, as a group, project what they deny inside themselves onto other people, so nations project what is called as” Collective Shadow”.

This is very much an aspect of the planet Pluto which is entering in the year 2008 in the sign of the leaders and political issues: Capricorn.

CHILDREN'S MEMORIAL FLAG

The Child Welfare League of America is the nation's oldest and largest membership-based child welfare organization. Was founded in Washington DC in the year 1998.

On the 27 th of April, has been launched the Children Memorial Flag Campaign to let know ,publicly, that nearly 3 million children are reported to be abused and neglected ,every year.

The Children Memorial Flag has been designed by a 16 y.o. Californian youth and shows five doll-like figures of children standing side-by-side, holding hands against a red backcloth.

A sixth child, in the center, is represented by a thin, white chalk outline, symbolizing a child lost to violence. The “lost-child”!

April has been recognised as the Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Reports say that :”the United States leads the world in homicides against children and youth under age 15, accounting for 73% of all homicides and 54% of all suicides of children, birth to age 15”.

In the year 2002 the dead children reached the number of 1.390 .

CHINA DESTROYS GIANT BUDDHIST STATUE IN TIBET

Published by the Canada Tibet Committee

In a demonstration of tightening controls over religious freedom in Tibet, the Chinese People's Armed Police (PAP) destroyed a 30-foot high statue of the Buddhist figure of Guru Rinpoche, or Padmasambhava in Samye Monastery, the oldest monastery in Tibet.

Guru Rinpoche is worshipped by Tibetan and Chinese Buddhists alike as the founder of Buddhism in Tibet in the 8^th century.

Chinese authorities claim that the statue, which was constructed using funds from two Chinese Buddhists, violated regulations passed in January 2007 stating that “organizations and individuals not belonging to religious organizations or places of religious activity may not erect or construct large-scale outdoor religious statues or mani lhakhang (prayer wheel temple).”

After the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1949, over 6.000 monasteries, nunneries, and temples were looted of precious religious artefacts or destroyed entirely.

Over 110.000 religious leaders (including monks, nuns, and others) were tortured and put to death; an additional 250.000 were forcibly dis robed.

Thousands of refugees continue to flee Tibet each year in search of religious freedom they can no longer enjoy in their own country.

If we trust in the Law of Karma, Reincarnation can provide some answers into the question if exists justice in the world.

If we look at the U.S.A.'s national chart, cast on July 4, 1776 for Philadelphia, we find, since 2003 , the transit of Pluto in her seventh house. This is a pivotal moment for all the world's affairs.

The chart of U.S. shows the sun in the sign of Cancer and her rising sign 20 degrees Gemini.

In 2004, Pluto, being 20 degrees Sagittarius, made an exact opposition with the conjunction Mars and Ascendant in the national chart. With Mars in this position, the chart shows a strong martial, aggressive attitude, both at home and in foreign affairs. It attracts wars, strikes, riots.

Pluto rules psychotic outbreaks in the collective unconscious. This can bring an obsession with wars, because the seventh house depicts, traditionally, the open enemy.

HUMANITY
One Humanity, one world! This is the final task of the Aquarian Age.
This Age will last 2500 years. This time will be a time of non-stop challenges. This is an age of growth, a time of growing up: humanity has to develop, to improve, to evolve. The Aquarian Age is a time for spiritual growth. It will be during this Age that human consciousness will reach an awareness we can hardly imagine right now.
In this new social order: new archetypes will be born, new crisis solving ideas will arrive, new world- cooperation will develop. All of this and more will be the blossoming promises for the Humanity to come. The Aquarian changes are on the way, we are just entering into this great Era.
Still, Humanity is not yet ready for it! Many people are unaware of the potential a conscious mind and a compassionate heart. They can bring the elements to heal and solve conflicts and sufferings.
Freedom, the real freedom which this Age heralds, is the freedom from the entanglements of matter.
Matter is more than form, it can be conventional habits, and concepts.
We need new avenues to solve conflicts between brother and brother, between country and country. We need to reduce the distance between spirit and matter.

Islam and Christianity: clash of Faiths

On 9/11, the Middle East was catapulted to the forefront on news programs around the world.

Suddenly, what was happening thousand of miles away could affect people regardless of where they lived.

The entire world awakened to the reality of how the Middle East impact us all.

It was clear that the Middle East's problems were going to have a greater impact on our lives than our own domestic disputes.

Sept. 11 was the climax-point when accumulated problems of thousand of years came, suddenly, on the surface. Now we are all affected by it. Oil is hidden in the Middle East deserts, our economies depend largely on it.

To this reality we must add the creation of many new countries which complicated the political area.

Endless violence started at the time of the birth of one nation in particular.

This territory, which is not holy any more,because of the sufferings, is the birth place of the world's three great monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

And it is here that the big “Armageddon”, takes place.

Each of these groups want to control the territory because they believe it is their “holy land”.

In spite of the clashes, history teaches us that in the past, Jewish and Arabs, have not always been enemies.

European culture was influenced by Arabs and Jews, leading, eventually, to the Renaissance.

Europeans, Arabs and Jews, could gain much from cooperation.

-June 16, the Palestinian President M.Abbas swore in an emergency Cabinet on sunday and outlawed the militia forces of the Islamic Hamas movement, deepening the violent rupture in Palestinian society.

Brothers against brothers.

In Gaza the situation among Hamas and Fatah movements has arrived to a declaration of war.

The planet Earth is the Soul-centred ruler of the sign Sagittarius. We can find the Earth's position on a chart if we count 180 degrees from the natal position of the Sun.

How to react with depression

Saturn rules this state of unbalance, we call depression. Nowadays, depression is an illness that is manifesting itself all over the world. The planet, rules all types of material forms. This influence includes the mineral world as well as our planet Earth. Saturn's connection with the law of gravity and the principle of responsibility are well known to the astrologers.

Saturn gives us, blocks and delays and also makes us free: it is a paradox. These blocks must be seen as opportunities to grow and prove ourselves as maturing individuals. In this way we grow and in growing we get rid of past entanglements. Saturn represents time and karma. Time and karma, if rightly used, gives stability. Saturn is a severe spiritual teacher, as Saturn sends us the difficulties that we need to overcome to enlighten ourselves. We can come to terms with his energy, only if we are able to reach a spiritual level, otherwise we find ourselves in the quicksands. Like physical quicksands,

the more the you move into the saturnial problem, the more you sink: it is only by using spiritual resources that you can escape from the problem. Depression is very much linked to the state of the mind, and Saturn has a mental vibration.

All the fears, emotional upsets, anxieties, and splinters from the collective DNA, etc., form what has been called in spiritual sciences the Dweller-on-the-Threshold. It is by facing the Dweller-on-the-Threshold that we progress. If we do not struggle with the Dweller-on-the-Threshold we will remain inert and lost. Everyone has to be reckon with it.

The Dweller-on-the-Threshold has the nature of a gigantic thought-form or factor, which must be faced and dissipated in order to further development. Its characteristics are big illusions-glamour-maya.

Illusions, glamour, and maya are states so frequent in our daily life are mental and emotional distortions of the true reality. At this point, to face this “ huge cloud” meditation, study, and service to mankind are able to dissipate all this accumulated glamour of ages.

The mind with the omniscient help of the Soul, can break through, and clarify the dark spots. In the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna had to face his despair which was caused by an overwhelming depression.

Krishna, came to help him to overcome and win the Illusion which was real cause of his despair.

Krishna gave to him some simple rules to follow:

a- Know that you are Immortal

b- Control the mind, because this is the tool to know the Immortal

c- Know that the form veils and hides the divine reality

d- Realize that there is only one Life pervading all forms, so, death does not exist, nor does anxiety, nor does separation.

e- Detach yourself from the form and come to Me in the place of Light and Peace, so the Illusion disappears.

On a more scientific- spiritual angle, depression is a lack of good-will. When the quality of good in life, is not expressed, the negation of good turns itself against the owner, causing an attrition which can cause illness. Depression acts especially on people who has a predominance of the mental nature.

Pluto in Capricorn

The planet Pluto represents the deeps, the bottom of the well, the unexplored depths of darkness. Pluto in the year 2008 will enter in Capricorn, and its passage will last until 2024.

It 's interesting to note that this planetary combination shows the depths with Pluto, and the heights with Capricorn, the sign of the “Mountain Goat”.

It is a vertical movement, either from above to below, or, the other way around.

Vertical is a very spiritual direction, if it points upward! The inferior opens up to the Superior.

WATER CHILDREN

Water is the element of feelings, of compassion, of sensitivity, and Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are ruled by water.

Water children are the most sensitive and emotional of all signs, they are able to capture, by their subtle understanding, what is going on ,both, in a person and in a situation. Water children can have x-ray perception, especially when the planets Pluto and Neptune (related to water) are close to the rising sign.

Because of this natural sympathy with another person, water children strongly need, more than any others, to be surrounded by gentle and positive people.

I remember the night when I arrived, to the Afghan border, it was in the '72.

Two rocks an a log, this was the marking-border.

A hot night, full of magic and mystery in the air, our passports were checked, under the lights of some candles...

An entire generation fell in love with this country.

We saw what we wanted to see.

In this torn- apart-land, finally, are arriving, the very first signs of marked improvement in the health sector, it is a beginning to life again, for this country.

Independent evaluation suggest 40,000 fewer infants deaths per year, compared to 5 years ago.

Infant mortality rates in Afghanistan ,declined from an estimated 165 per 1,000 live births in 2001 to about 135 per 1,000 in 2006, according preliminary findings of Johns Hopkins University household survey

This means that 40,000 fewer infants are dying each year compared to during Taleban rule.

An overall improvement of 25 per cent is indicated from 2004.

Wesak, Full Moon in Taurus

The ancient ceremony of Wesak, began in the East, in Tibet. Wesak is a celebration of the birth, the
enlightenment, and the death of Buddha all of which occurred during the full moon of Taurus.

Nowadays, many Buddhist groups are still celebrating Wesak; during this old rite they give the public the opportunity to learn the teachings of Lord Buddha, and realize the existence of a Higher Brotherhood and the close link some can have.

The festival of Wesak ( named after a valley in Tibet ), is able to unify both eastern and western spirituality. It is said, that Christ and Buddha, are present, together, during this sacred ceremony, to signify the strong, unifying, link, between the two divines,

The main aim of the festival is to let know, to the world, the teachings of the Lord Buddha, and to evoke the spirit of Peace ,on earth.

Since the year 1946 this ceremony had spread in the western world,too.

The focus of the Wesak in Taurus, lies in three major steps, three keys to the world-development, if we want to go further in social evolution:

a) the Unity, it means we must be able to find the hidden consciousness in any living thing.

b)the uncovering of the new vision of “group-awareness”, the task of the Aquarian Age.

Task-force against human trafficking

On April the 7th, Cambodia launched the first national task-force against human trafficking.

Cambodian Ministry of Women's Affair, launched the kingdom's first task-force to take human trafficking effectively.

This statement has been reported by, You Ay, secretary of state of the ministry.

This is a unified campaign to combat all forms of trafficking of men, women and children for slave labour, begging and prostitution.

“ Cambodia will not tolerate exploitation”, she added!

This force comprise 14 ministers and institutions to eliminate trafficking and assist victims.

Official reports said that thousands of Cambodians are exploited to work as sex slaves in Malaysia, Japan, China-Taiwan and Hong Kong, Qatar, Somali and Saudi Arabia.

Children are used as sex-toy for tourists ,and young women, too.

Prostitution, abuse...the dark side of the richer countries.

All over Asia, a large domestic consciousness ,is taking place, as a consequence of these legal steps .

It is really important that this Cambodia's standing- position has come from this exploited country.

It should be really difficult and brave to fight corruptions, there.

Exploitation is ruled by the planet Neptune. Neptune rules, also, the United Nations.

Joining forces will bring victory in the end, and this huge problem will be seen, with the time, as a remaining of a dark period in history.

OBESITY, as a distortion of...

If we consider obesity as a sickness on both physical and psychological levels, we might say that its roots are found in the quality of “beauty”, and the consequent distortion of it.

How can beauty be the origin of a sickness?

In our society beauty covers the meaning of “quality” in life, means desire, longing for wishes, represents the appearance, aesthetics, the image; an entire business-culture , is shaped out of it.

When someone is unable to get what he believes is beauty , generates a psychological, inner imbalance, which brings forth , a bent for illness.

This friction between the ideal and the reality, causes, ultimately the illness.

The Tibetan Master D.K. says that:” Many men are sick because they run after beauty, not knowing that beauty it is a divine quality, one of the many attributes of the Soul”

The real source of the beauty is unknown, to the average man, than, the inner friction, and the gap, appear.

Obesity is related to a lack of harmony in the workings of the planet Jupiter , in Astrology. Jupiter, the planet of expansion,

of growth, when is found in stress -position, in an astrological reading, causes overeating disorders, overweights, adipose tissues and obesities.

The day after...

I feel a strong urge to write down few words on the “day after” ,Virginia's bewilderment.

I am not delving into the personal or national mistakes, there will be, already, lot of talking about it.

I would like to participate in the huge work of building new avenues for the betterment of this society.

Wherever you are , there, is the road; and the youngsters learn it,the hard way!

By experience, I saw, that this youth need to be helped by us all, parents and educators, because of their enormous potentiality.

They are sent to fight in wars, they are deadly shot for stupid reasons, they find difficulties and blocks in finding all kinds of jobs. This, is happening under our eyes, in America and Europe, on a daily base.

This generation was born with the planet Pluto in the sign of Scorpio, (1982-1995), and this is a combination which generates a fighting generation, a “delving one”!

There is strength to fight for the good and stamina to win , against all odds, but if you try to obstruct it

this force can turn back, with heavy consequences.

They were born during the spreading of the AIDS in the world,, and they had to confront, for the first time in the modern era, the problem of sex.

Spiritually, they are the ones who will learn the death of desire, so that, true Love, may flow.

They are “the Transformers”; some, among them, will be able to change human consciousness.

Please , in silence, stare them into their eyes, especially when they speak from their heart!

You may find conviction.

The collective is really important to them, and they will regenerate present conditions, with concrete actions.

The day of full-moon occurs when the moon is in opposition to the sun. This month the sun is in Aries and the full moon is in Libra.

This is a very special period of the year, the winter solstice is past and the spring equinox has just begun.

Winter seems to be the most spiritual period of the whole year, it is a reflective period. We are more self contained: our ideas, our projects, our way of thinking become more intimate, and we tend to grow, mostly, within ourselves. We are more on the yang-side of the yin-yang polarities.

Our potentialities, like seeds,
lie dormant during the winter.
When the springtime comes, these seeds come to the surface searching for the light. We are like the flowers, giving birth, to ideas, projects, and aspirations, as with the sunshine, prana reaches us with encreasingly strength.

How beautiful is our adolescence?

Any way we spent our adolescence, or are spending it right now it is a breathless period in one's life: colorful and magic, desperate and happy!

BAGHDAD,AN ASTROLOGICAL EXPLANATION!

I was very surprised to see that the sign of Virgo rules the city of Baghdad, and I found myself delving into the astrological history of this city.

It is said that during the period from 810-865 A.D., when the Byzantines were spreading their magnificence, and Charlemagne initiated a cultural flowering in Europe, lifting it from the Dark Ages.
At the same time, the Islamic Dynasty of al-Mamun in Baghdad, brought Muslin science, literature, medicine, astronomy and architecture to a new higher level.
This magnificence was the seed that led to the flowering of Western European culture.
Parallel to these events, the mystical sect of Sufism and in India the Hindu Vedanic philosophy, was inaugurated.

This was a period that was called “the Copper Age”, and it is very much impressed by the passage of the planet Neptune from the sign of Scorpio, up to the sign of Aquarius.

We, are now, entering into the Age of Aquarius. We are moving step by step, towards a growing expression of collective impersonality.

By “collective impersonality” I mean people that in all dealings will find the right central point, between the two poles in any matter, without being bogged down by too much subjective involvement. People who tend towards being self-less rather than selfish.

The 'personal garden” (the sphere of personal interest) becomes increasingly less important than the collective one: considering the whole of society and not just a part of it, is the response of this coming new age.

CHILDREN OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM

We can see, in Astrology, that children born in the same period (within a decade), have some general characteristics which in later years, will be shared, and will mark periods of historical changes, either towards civilizations expansion or decline.

Sometimes also “the uneventful-silent periods” in history, show a certain generational characteristic.

This is mostly due to the signs and aspects that the planets Neptune, Pluto and Uranus occupy in the birth charts. These planets are so slow in motion, that they are prominent in signing periods or cycles which will affect the collective trends. Victoria B.C.-An Astrological Insight into a City

Jung thinks that nations, like individuals, can be described psychologically. A nation can have its illness, its psychic dissociation and breakdowns, the nation, the mass, can be viewed as species of greater individual. If the mass, “the body politic”, acts as a single entity, then astrologers seeking to understand it, should be able to cast a birthchart. Such a chart should provide indications of the internal dynamics of a nation, in the same way that a natal chart can provide information about an individual. The individuals living in the city apparently are separated, but when we come up to sharing a particular place the conscious side blends with the collective unconscious: this means the mass, living in the same city, share in fact a connection.

A little bit of historical background: during the French Third Republic, Mercury was in Libra, bringing the wave of culture and cafe society pioneered by the Impressionists, the Existentialists, and others. Canada, in general, is under Cancer, and in particular the Western side under the dominion of Leo (Victoria was a queen) Leo is the King of the Jungle.
